SJ Highland Construction Ltd are seeking hard-working, organised and punctual skilled labourers to join our team. Wages dependent upon age, skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist skilled tradespeople (such as joiners, bricklayers, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks on site.
- Carry out a variety of manual tasks, including lifting and moving materials, site preparation and clearance, digging, and basic groundworks.
- Operate a range of hand and power tools competently and safely.
- Assist with the mixing and laying of concrete and mortar.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring adherence to site safety protocols.
- Follow instructions accurately from site supervisors and tradespeople.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Potentially operate small plant and machinery if certified and experienced.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years labouring/construction experience
- Valid CSCS Card
- Willingness to travel to sites all over the Highlands
- Valid driving licence
- An ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing for long periods; lifting heavy loads; working at height; and working in all weathers
- Good hand-eye co-ordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills
- Commitment to safety rules
- The ability to take and follow instructions
- Be proactive and able to use own initiative
- Hardworking, punctual and organised.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
